The AFTER Blog
The blog is where we publish the pieces that don’t quite fit a framework letter — the questions the family didn’t know to ask, the symptom that came back at year two, the conversation with the IEP team that everyone walked out of feeling worse, the IME doctor’s report that didn’t sound like the survivor at all.
How We Write
The AFTER blog is built around a single test: will this still serve a family on a Wednesday morning three years from now? If yes — we publish. If it sounds like a brochure, a clinic FAQ, or a wellness influencer talking about resilience, we rewrite it until it doesn’t.
What We Don’t Publish
We don’t publish clickbait. We don’t publish “5 things every TBI family needs to know” lists. We don’t publish anything we wouldn’t hand to someone we love at hour seventy-two of a vigil.
The blog is not how we grow traffic. The blog is how we earn the right to be there at month three.
Filter the archive by where you are standing
Placeholder grid — swaps to the live article loop when launch posts publish. A new piece publishes weekly, alternating between tactical and reflective.
The Invisible Reality
For the families trying to explain why the survivor “looks fine” to a relative who has stopped calling.
Systemic Failure
Medical, insurance, and legal gaps. We name what is coming at the family because nobody else will.
The Guide, Not the Hero
What worked, what didn’t, what they wish someone had told them at month three.
Radical Empathy
The caregiver’s mental health, the grief that begins now, the sibling who got quiet.
Pitch Us a Story
The AFTER blog is built on lived experience — ours and other families’. If you have walked a piece of this terrain and want to share what you learned, we want to hear from you.
When New Pieces Publish
A new piece publishes weekly, alternating between tactical and reflective. The AFTER newsletter is where you’ll see them first. Bi-weekly. No noise.
The AFTER Newsletter
A bi-weekly note from the bridge between hospital discharge and the new normal. One Wednesday morning, one piece of guidance, one true sentence at a time.
No noise. No fundraising blast. No legal pitch. Unsubscribe at any time.
The trusted bridge between survival and rebuilding life after a brain injury. Education-first guidance, resources, and advocacy for survivors and the families who carry them.
